Lighting Workshop: LW3-2

This is the second in a series of monthly workshops for 2009 all about lighting, using both studio lights, speedlights and natural light.


-Date: Sunday, May 10, 2009
-Time: 1m-5pm
-Location: Level 3 Studios: 301 - 296 McDermot Avenue
-Cost: $40 for a shooter position, $30 for an attendee position


-This workshop has a limit of 36 shooters and 34 attendees. You will need to sign up to attend. (Please see below for details)

The models for this workshop are all professional models from Swish Model Management Winnipeg:

This workshop will be very similar to the LW3-1 but concentrates on speedlights (hot shoe flashes) and gives you double the amount of models to shoot. If you missed the last workshop there will be a review of many of the topics so you won't be left out.

What you will learn:

-What equipment is available, how much it costs and how to set it up
-How speedlights work together and how to set them up for portraiture
-How and when to use a light meter
-Exposure settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO)
-How to use natural light for portraiture
-How to use different lenses and modifiers for portraiture
-A brief introduction to posing models
-Photo composition for portraiture
-Resources to find models
-Model release forms: the Do's and Don'ts*

This second workshop in the series is meant for: Beginner& Intermediate
-People who want to learn how to use both speedlights and natural light for portraiture (as well as studio lights)
-People thinking about starting a studio at home or professionally
-People who want to learn more concise methods of setting up their lights
-It will also include tips and tricks for photographers of all skill levels

-Please send an e-mail to Dan with the subject "WPC LW3-2: attendee/shooter"** and include your real name and forum name.
-You will then be send information on how to pay for and confirm your attendance
