Hey all, I have received all the judges choices and can now announce the winners for the WPGphoto contest #3: Nature. The photos where judged without any names associated to them, here is the gallery of all the entries (the same one the judges used to vote for their favorites): WPGphoto contest #3 entries The entries are in the order they where received. You can see each entries # when viewing the larger image.

The judges where asked to pick their top 6 favorites. The top 6 of each judge where given points based on their place: 1st place for each judge was awarded 6pts, 5pts for a 2dn, 3pts for a 3rd choice and so on down the ladder to 1pt for each judges 6th choice. You often hear that contests are hard to judge and in this case it was very true as there where two entries tied for 2nd and three tied for 3rd place.

The winners are:

First place - 27 pts: Chris G - photo #9

Second place - 16 pts (tie) Richard M - photo #6

Second place - 16 pts (tie) Dave L - photo #7

Third place - 10 pts(tie) James A - photo #4

Third place - 10 pts (tie) Char H - photo #11

Third place - 10 pts (tie) Kelly S - photo #12

Congratulations to all the participants, there where several people that where right behind the top images so I'm really looking forward to another tight competition in the next WPGphoto contest.

WPGphoto public shoot: May 23, 2005 at Seven Sisters Falls

The weather is supposed to be great on Monday May 23, 2005 and as it is a holiday for most I am planning a WPGphoto shoot at Seven Sisters Falls!

Seven Sisters Falls is kind of a misnomer as they are really mainly rapids but there are several amazing spots to shoot so there is something for everyone!

In order to help anyone who hasn't yet been there some of us will be leaving as a group from the St Boniface Cathedral at 12noon in order to cruise there together. The trip is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and for those who want to meet us there directly here are directions:
"Take highway 59 and turn onto 44 to Beausejour and continue east till you get to Sidon's Corner. Turn onto 11 north and go to junction Prov Road 307. Seven Sisters is just down the road about 5 km. Once in town there's a sign to the park. Turn into the park area and you're there."

Be sure to bring water, a snack and sunscreen!

For more information please feel free to contact me by e-mail. Or if you need a ride see the thread on the forum here.
